A ready-made diorama base with a piece of wall and a roadway, usable in 1:35 as well as 1:32 scale. All it needs is painting and a model or figure set on it.

The base is a finished plinth with relief: it carries a piece of wall and the adjoining roadway. You stand a model of a vehicle or a figure on it, and an isolated model turns at a stroke into a scene that has scale, a setting and a story. The scales given, 1:35 and 1:32, mean that the plinth will carry hardware in the 1:35 kit scale as well as figures in the larger 1:32.
The wall gives the scene a background and at the same time hides where the scene ends; the roadway leads the eye and determines which way the machine came. Those are exactly the two things that make a first attempt at a diorama difficult, and here you have them ready.
First wash and degrease the surface, then go over it with a primer, otherwise the shades will not take evenly. Spray the masonry and the roadway with a lighter undercoat, work a darker wash into the gaps and bring out the edges with a dry brush. Dust pigments at the foot of the wall and along the edges of the roadway, where the grime collects most, will complete the look. Before seating the model, try out dry exactly where you will stand the machine.
The base suits modelers who want to display a model in a setting but do not want to build a whole scene from scratch. The box holds the plinth only; the model, figures, vegetation, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
