A model of the twenty-millimeter Oerlikon automatic anti-aircraft gun in 1:35 scale. It is an all-resin kit from the Czech maker CMK, made as a complete gun in the American version with a naval mount. Given the character of resin it is meant rather for more experienced modelers.
The automatic gun of 20 mm caliber from Oerlikon, of Swiss origin, was one of the most widespread light anti-aircraft weapons of the Second World War. It proved itself above all as the close-in defense of warships against low-flying aircraft and was deployed in great numbers by the Allied navies. The model captures the single-barrel form on a naval mount.
First wash the mold release residue off the parts, cut the casting blocks off and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Treat the thin sections, such as the barrel and the sighting mechanisms, carefully. After applying primer, paint with an airbrush; the metal and fitted parts will be brought out with a dry brush and washes. For a naval look, shades of gray and finishing with pigments come in handy.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
