The Typ 170V is a German prewar passenger car from which commercial versions were also derived. The flatbed version, designated Lieferpritschenwagen, had an open load bed with drop sides behind the cab. Vehicles like this served tradesmen, shops and farms for delivering goods, and many of them stayed in service through the war years, when they were taken over by the authorities and the military administration. For the modeler it is a rewarding subject for a civilian street scene as well as for a rear-area diorama.
It is a plastic kit in 1:35 scale, that is in the size common for military and civilian vehicles alike. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The exact range of parts, the number of marking options and any accessories are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Before gluing, remove the excess material and the traces of production from the parts, sand the mating faces and try the whole thing dry first. Prepare the small parts of the cab and the bed while they are still on the sprue; they are easier to work with that way. A civilian vehicle takes a more pronounced finish, so apply the base shade in several light coats and only then work on dust and wear. The load bed is a good place for a load that will give the scene a story.
Paints, glue and putty are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
