Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German improvised self-propelled anti-tank gun 7.5 cm Pak 40/4 on the chassis of the RSO tracked tractor, 1:35 scale, from MiniArt. The kit contains photo-etched parts, clear parts and decals for several configurations. Take the exact contents from the instructions supplied.
The abbreviation RSO stands for Raupenschlepper Ost, meaning tracked tractor East, developed for the muddy and snowbound conditions of the Eastern Front. In 1943 the Germans mounted the capable 75 mm Pak 40 anti-tank gun on it as an emergency solution. What came out was a light and mobile self-propelled gun with an open fighting platform, meant to make up for the shortage of anti-tank weapons. The open structure gave the crew only little protection, but the machine stood out for its ability to get across country.
Put together and clean up the running gear of the tractor before you close up the hull. The open fighting platform and the Pak 40 gun are exposed to view, so give attention to the detail of the breech, the shield and the rounds. Glue the thin photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue and the plastic with thin cement; sand the joints after filling and lay down a primer. The base is a dark yellow coat, onto which camouflage in green and brown can be applied; washes into the recesses will add depth, bring out the edges with a dry brush and dust the underside and the tracks generously with mud and dust pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
