An accessory to a model, not a standalone kit. The set replaces the wheels from the original kit with wheels whose tire is bowed where it meets the ground, as if it were being pressed by the weight of the vehicle. On a heavy eight-wheeled system this is a detail that shows at first glance: the model stops looking as if it were floating above the base and gains real weight.
Standard wheels tend to be perfectly circular, so the contact surfaces touch the base at a single point only. Flattened tires enlarge the contact patch, press in the sidewall of the tire and, combined with dust and mud on the underside of the vehicle, give the model conviction. It pays off most on a model displayed on a flat board or in a diorama, where the contact line is clearly visible.
Before fitting, check that all the wheels are turned with the flattened part downward and in one plane, or the model will stand crooked. You can sand the contact surface gently so that it follows the base exactly. Spray the tire in a matte dark gray shade rather than black, and dust the edge of the tread with a light pigment.
This is an accessory for building a model. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
