1:35 AH-64

The real subject

The AH-64 Apache attack helicopter was created as a machine meant to destroy armored vehicles and at the same time survive fire from the ground. The crew sits in tandem, the main rotor carries four blades and the armament hangs on stub wings on the sides of the fuselage. Later forms received a radar cover above the rotor head, new electronics and a series of small changes on the outside. It is precisely in the details of the armament, the sensors and the external equipment that the individual versions differ most, and that is why so many add-on sets are offered for Apache models.

What kind of set this is

An add-on set in 1:35 scale for a model of the AH-64 helicopter. It is an accessory for a part-built model, not a standalone kit. The extent of the parts and the order of fitting are shown in the manufacturer's instructions, and from them you will also see which version of the machine the set suits.

Building and painting tips

Before working, wash the parts with lukewarm water and detergent and let them dry. Cut away the excess material with a sharp blade a little from the part and sand the remainder with fine paper; support thin rods and antennas while doing so, so that they do not bend. Try the fit dry and adjust the mating faces on the kit beforehand rather than forcing a part into place. Start the painting with a base coat that unifies the surface of the kit and the accessories; without it a differing surface shows through even under the top coat. The suitable glue is given in the manufacturer's instructions.

Who the set is for

For more experienced builders of modern helicopters in 1:35 scale who are building a particular Apache version and want to take it to a high level of detail. The package contains the add-on parts. The helicopter model, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
