A set of precisely turned metal barrels from Aber in 1:35 scale, put together for models of the Panther tank in the early Ausf. D form. It contains the barrel of the main gun and the barrels of the machine gun armament. It is neither a model nor a kit, but a set of replacement parts for a finished kit.
The Panther Ausf. D was the first production version of the German Panther medium tank, armed with the long 7.5 cm KwK 42 gun of L/70 length and supplemented by 7.92 mm machine guns. Turned metal barrels faithfully capture the slender profile of the gun barrel and the delicacy of the machine gun muzzles.
Replace the plastic barrels on the model with the metal ones and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. A seamless gun barrel removes the need to fill and sand the lengthwise joint. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a primer for metal.
This is a metal add-on set, not the model itself. A matching kit is needed for fitting and it is not included in the package.
