Responsibility details are not available.
A collection of farm implements in 1:35 scale, which the Italian brand Royal Model makes from polyurethane resin in combination with photo-etched metal. It will serve to fill a farm, a yard or a barn.
Country farming in Europe in the first half of the twentieth century rested on hand implements with wooden handles and forged working parts. They hung on the walls of barns, leaned against walls and lay about by the dung heap, and it is exactly that apparent untidiness that makes a scene believable. Modelers most often underestimate two things: tools are almost never stood in a row, and their metal parts tend to be rusty and worn rather than clean. The cutting edges of shovels and hoes also shine from use, while the rest of the surface stays matte, and that difference on a model gives away that someone really held the object in their hand.
The flat working parts in metal call for different handling from the castings: bend the metal over a sharp edge and only cut the resin. It is a good idea to color the handles in several shades of brown, so that the individual pieces do not merge. Apply a hint of corrosion in thin coats from darker to brighter, most strongly in the places where the metal meets the wood and where damp collects.
