The Takom Bergepanzer 2 Standard (1:35) plastic kit - the German armored recovery vehicle on the chassis of the Leopard 1 tank.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Bergepanzer 2 armored recovery vehicle in the Standard version in 1:35 scale from Takom. The model offers workable tracks, photo-etched parts, hatches that can be built open or closed, a movable crane arm and several marking options. It is an attractive piece of modern equipment with a great deal of detail.
The Bergepanzer 2 is a recovery vehicle of the West German army (the Bundeswehr) built on the chassis of the Leopard 1 tank. It appeared in the 1960s as the successor to an older recovery vehicle and served to tow and repair damaged equipment in the field. It is fitted with a powerful slewing crane for lifting heavy loads, a winch and a front blade, which serves both as a brace and for clearing ground. It stayed in service for decades.
Assemble and refine the running gear, the wheels and the workable tracks before painting. Leave the crane arm and the winch movable for an attractive pose. A base coat of primer, an airbrush and modern Bundeswehr camouflage schemes (for example the tan, green and black NATO camouflage) all prove their worth. Bring out the details with a wash, the edges with a dry brush and weather the chassis with pigments; the winch and the crane come into their own with oil effects suggesting grease.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
