These are 3D-printed, pre-colored parts carried on backing (decal) paper — the individual elements are moistened and applied like a decal, but when dry they form fine three-dimensional 3D relief with photorealistic colors and markings. The result is a detailed cab with no need for painting. It is neither a vehicle model nor a complete kit — it is a detail accessory intended exclusively for the BM-30 Smerch kit from Trumpeter, which you have to own; on other kits the parts will not fit dimensionally. The words Small version mean a reduced (simplified) set holding only the most important and most visible elements of the cab (typically the instrument panel and the main consoles). It is quicker to apply than the full version; a complete interior is available as a separate full version.
The BM-30 Smerch (9K58) is a Soviet, and later Russian, heavy large-caliber multiple rocket launcher on an off-road 8x8 wheeled chassis. It fires unguided and corrected rockets of 300 mm caliber over long distances and serves for area artillery fire against concentrated targets. It ranks among the most powerful salvo rocket launchers of its category; on the model the cab and the control space are a rewarding place for detailing.
The parts are cut out, dipped in water for a few seconds and slid off the backing onto the matching place in the cab. It is best to fit the interior before you close the cab. Do not use a decal softener, as it attacks the printed resin; a final overspray with a gloss or semi-gloss varnish unifies the surface and protects the colors. The plastic parts of the kit should be clean and degreased.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model. The BM-30 Smerch kit itself, glue, paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
