A set of kit figures in 1:35 scale from MiniArt showing British soldiers in a cafe setting. It is not a kit of a vehicle and not ready-painted figures, but a set the modeler assembles and paints himself. The 1:35 scale is the most widespread one for figures accompanying military vehicles, so the set goes easily with vehicle models and with diorama accessories of the same size.
A quiet scene away from combat gives a diorama a story that vehicles alone cannot offer. Soldiers at a table, in conversation or at rest look natural against the backdrop of a house, a street cafe or a square, and they lead the viewer to the small details of the scene. The set therefore suits both a small standalone vignette of a few square centimeters and the enlivening of a larger diorama with vehicles. Check the exact number of figures, their poses and the accessories on the packaging.
Try the parts dry first and clean up the mold seams, which on figures show mainly on the arms and the trouser legs. Level small gaps with filler and fine abrasive paper. Apply a primer before painting and build the color on top of it. Build the uniforms up in layers: the base shade, a darker wash into the folds and a fine highlight on the raised areas. Paint the faces last and work with thin coats, because in 1:35 scale a very small area decides the expression. Even out the finished figures with a matte clear so that the scene looks of one piece.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
