An injection-molded plastic kit of the Italian light tank Carro Armato L6/40 in 1:35 scale from manufacturer Italeri. The model depicts the compact hull with a small rotating turret and the distinctive running gear of this Italian vehicle from the Second World War era. It is an unassembled kit to be glued together from plastic parts.
The L6/40 was an Italian light tank deployed during the Second World War. It was developed as a supplement to armored and reconnaissance units and was one of the few Italian light tanks of its time with a rotating turret. The turret carried a 20 mm automatic cannon supplemented by a machine gun. It was used, among other places, in North Africa and on the Eastern Front, also serving in a reconnaissance role and as a basis for a self-propelled gun. Compared to contemporary Allied and German vehicles, it was lightly armored and lightly armed.
First assemble and paint the running gear and tracks, which become harder to reach once the hull is finished. Glue the small parts and turret with thin liquid cement for plastic, fill and sand the seams. Apply a primer coat and spray the shades with an airbrush — Italian vehicles were typically sand and gray-green tones. For weathering, use washes in the recesses and rivets and pigments for dust and mud effects typical of North African deployment.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
