This set from the Taiwanese company AFV Club in 1:35 scale contains injection-molded plastic parts for assembling a workable suspension and a complete set of road wheels of the British tank Centurion. It is not a vehicle model on its own but a building accessory that replaces or completes the running gear of the base kit.
The Centurion is among the most successful postwar British tanks. Its running gear uses the horizontal Horstmann suspension with pairs of steel road wheels with rubber tire bands. Accurately made bogies and wheels markedly raise the level of detail on the underside of a model.
Separate the parts from the sprues with a sharp modeling knife or a photo-etched saw, and touch up the cleaned surfaces. The movable suspension makes it possible to settle the vehicle on the uneven terrain of a diorama, so consider gluing only after you have tried the position out. Glue with modeling cement for plastic and reinforce the joints with super glue if needed. The steel road wheels of a tracked vehicle do not flatten, so paint them without any flattening under load; darken the rubber tire bands and finish the underside with mud and dust effects.
This is a building accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
