It is not a kit of the helicopter but a cockpit detail set from Reskit, meant for the CH-54A Tarhe kit by ICM in 1:35 scale. It combines 3D-printed (resin) parts with color 3D decals, so the instruments and the panels come out without painting. This is the Basic edition; Reskit also offers a Detailed edition of the cockpit for the same kit, so if you want the maximum, compare the two.
The Sikorsky CH-54 Tarhe (the S-64 Skycrane in civilian use) is an American heavy crane helicopter: instead of a conventional fuselage it has only a slender load-bearing spine with the load slung beneath it. It first flew in 1962 and in Vietnam became famous for recovering downed aircraft and helicopters and for carrying guns, vehicles and boats on an external sling. The cabin is glazed almost all over, so the cockpit is visible from the sides and from above better than on most machines, and a detailed interior pays off here as on few other helicopters.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, otherwise production residue would keep the paint from adhering. Cement for polystyrene does not work here; join the 3D-printed resin parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with epoxy. Cut the carriers and casting remains off with a saw and level the faces by wet sanding; dry resin dust is harmful and must not be inhaled. The color 3D decals are applied with water, like a decal, onto a smooth, degreased base given a gloss coat; press them into the detail with a soft cotton swab and check the use of a decal softener in the manufacturer instructions. Where a decal is to sit, remove the molded suggestion of the detail from the plastic. The thin printed elements are fragile, so do not bend them by force. Finish the cockpit and seat it before you close the fuselage and glue the glazing on.
Reskit also makes further accessories for the same machine (landing gear with wheels, main and tail rotor, engines), and they can be combined. This is not a model of the helicopter but an accessory. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
