ZTZ-99A with add-on armor 1:35 from Zimi Model: a plastic kit of the Chinese main battle tank.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the Chinese ZTZ-99A main battle tank in the configuration with the add-on armor package and with a remote controlled weapon station. These two features are exactly what gives the vehicle its present-day look: the armor blocks change the outline of the turret, and the weapon station on the roof makes it possible to fire without the commander leaning out of cover. According to the manufacturer the package contains no glue and no paints, and it includes a pictorial instruction sheet with recommended colors.
The ZTZ-99A is the most modern version of the Chinese main battle tank, which entered service at the beginning of this century. It belongs among the best equipped machines of the Chinese army and differs from the older types above all in its protection: the wedge-shaped armor blocks on the front of the turret create the characteristic shape by which the vehicle is recognized at first glance. The remote controlled weapon station is a newer addition, which is gaining ground on modern tanks because the crew member working the weapon no longer has to expose his head.
On vehicles with add-on armor it is worth gluing the armor blocks on only after the basic shape has been painted, because the paint will not reach underneath them and the gaps then show. Build and paint the suspension and the running gear before you close up the hull. Lay down a primer coat. Modern camouflage tends to be uniform, so bring the surface to life with panel shading and a wash flowed into the gaps, otherwise the model looks flat. Emphasize dust and mud with pigments, working from the bottom upward.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
