An injection-molded plastic kit of the Chinese self-propelled howitzer PLZ-05 (Type 05) in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Meng. The model presents a modern tracked artillery vehicle with a long barrel of 155 mm caliber. The package contains parts in quality plastic, photo-etched metal parts and workable track links that clip together without glue. The barrel can be set in elevation, the crew hatches are movable and transparent parts for the lights, periscopes, observation windows and sights are enclosed.
The PLZ-05 is a Chinese 155 mm self-propelled howitzer developed for the ground forces of the People's Republic of China. It combines a well-armored traversing turret with a long barrel of 155 mm caliber and an autoloading system, thanks to which it achieves a high rate of fire and a considerable range. The tracked chassis with torsion-bar suspension provides mobility in the field. The vehicle forms the backbone of modern Chinese self-propelled artillery and is deployed for fire support at long range.
It is recommended to assemble and, where appropriate, paint the running gear and the lower areas of the hull before you close them up. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic and leave the workable tracks movable for easier painting. Apply a primer filler before the finish and spray the paints ideally with an airbrush. For a realistic look make use of dark washes in the recesses and pigments for mud and dust effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
