An injection-molded plastic kit combining the heavy military tractor M983 HEMTT and the M901 launching station of the Patriot air defense system in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. In one package you therefore build the complete launch vehicle together with the trailer carrying the canisters with the surface-to-air guided missiles. The package contains photo-etched parts and hollow rubber tires; it is a sizable and complex model for a display case.
The MIM-104 Patriot is an American mobile air and missile defense system meant to destroy aircraft, guided missiles and ballistic missiles. The M901 launching station with four transport and launch canisters is carried on a trailer towed by the four-axle HEMTT chassis (M983) with 8x8 drive. Since the 1980s the system has been the backbone of the air defense of the United States and of a number of allied armies and has been used in several conflicts.
Use thin cement for plastic and work in subassemblies; finish and paint the running gear and the cab interior before you close them up. Bond the photo-etched parts with super glue. Apply a primer before painting and lay the colors on with an airbrush. On military vehicles a final weathering with washes and pigments for dust and mud effects on the chassis and the tires works well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
