An injection-molded plastic model of the American military ambulance Dodge WC-54 Ambulance in 1:35 scale from the Zvezda brand. This is new tooling with a finely rendered enclosed ambulance body and chassis. The package includes a decal sheet which makes it possible to build the vehicle in American, British or Soviet service. The exact number of parts and marking schemes is given in the enclosed instructions.
The Dodge WC-54 was the standard ambulance of the American army during the Second World War, derived from the proven Dodge WC series of light trucks. The enclosed body took several lying or seated wounded along with a medic and the driver, and the vehicle served to carry the wounded from the front line to field hospitals. It was built in large numbers and stayed in service with Allied armies for a number of years after the war.
With military vehicles it pays to assemble and paint the running gear, the chassis and the inside of the ambulance body before the body is closed up, because once it is glued these places are harder to reach. Glue the plastic parts with a thin modeling cement for plastic, fill the joints and sand them down. Apply a primer before painting and spray the olive green in thin coats with an airbrush. Create the weathering with dark washes into the recesses and with pigments for mud and dust effects on the chassis and fenders.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
