The third set of the Royal Model line for the DUKW amphibious vehicle is devoted to the remaining small items: the holds, the fittings and the thin sheet-metal elements that decide the overall impression on a finished model. It is assumed that you already have the plastic model part-built. It is based on the dimensions of the Italeri kit.
The cargo bed took about two and a half tons of material or two dozen soldiers and it was open, so the load could be passed over the side straight from the deck of a landing ship. That is precisely why the inside of the load area stays visible on a model and is worth fitting out. After the war the vehicles did not end up as scrap: they served with rescue services, accompanied expeditions into frozen regions and to this day carry tourists along rivers and lakes, which has made them one of the longest-used types of their era. The driver did not take to the water blindly, though: before going in he switched on the pumps and checked the seals of the hatches.
A scene at a loading ramp is a suitable subject for a display case as well. Tweezers with fine points and a work surface with a raised edge will save a great deal of searching on the carpet. Transfer the glue to a part with the head of a pin. If the metal does not want to bond, sand the point of contact with fine abrasive paper.
A model of your own and ordinary modeling equipment are necessary.
