The A/S-32A-31A tractor belongs to the machinery that practically never stops on the deck of an aircraft carrier. It pushes machines from their spots to the elevator, turns them before the catapult and, after a landing, clears the runway for the next in line. It is an unobtrusive machine with a large effect on how a scene reads: as long as nobody is sitting at the wheel, the whole deck looks as if an alarm had just been sounded.
The casting captures a female person seated, with her hands in a working position at the steering wheel and her feet resting on the floor of the cab. The manufacturer lists her as the second of a pair of poses; the first is held by a male person in a slightly different seat, so both can be combined in one scene without repeating the same gesture.
Separate the person from the casting block with a fine saw, level the surface and then wash the part in warm soapy water: otherwise the mold release residue repels the paint. A filler primer in a spray can works well, and only onto that go the shades of the coveralls and the life vest. Deck crews are told apart by the color of their jerseys according to function, so the choice of shade is exactly what decides which role the person plays in the scene. Leave the hair and the face until the end, because they are what decides whether the viewer notices the person at all.
