The targeted set of photo-etched fenders for the Pz.Kpfw. I Ausf. B in 1:35 scale replaces thick plastic parts with brass at a convincing thickness.
Responsibility details are not available.
A separate set focused on a single but very visible assembly: the fenders of the German light tank. The plastic parts from a kit work out, in scale, at a thickness matching several centimeters of real sheet, whereas brass photo-etch comes close to reality. This is a targeted accessory that is fitted to a finished plastic base.
In photographs from the campaigns it is exactly the fenders that are bent, torn off or missing altogether. Thin sheet did not survive a collision with a tree, reversing into a trench or the clumsy recovery of a bogged-down vehicle. On the Panzer I this was made worse by the narrow hull, which meant the fender projected a long way out and acted as a bumper. A modeler is therefore given a rewarding chance to bring a machine to life with a slight bend or a missing piece.
Bend long strips gradually in small sections rather than in one stroke, otherwise an irregular wave appears. For a clean bend a wooden batten pressed down along the whole length helps. Suggest damage by pressing the round handle of a tool into a soft surface. Before you glue the part on, try its position against the running gear, as it has to sit parallel to the track.
Paints, glues and the plastic base are sold separately.
