A plastic kit of the German project fighter Focke-Wulf Triebflügel in 1:35 scale from the maker MiniArt: a machine that never flew.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German project fighter Focke-Wulf Triebflügel in the unusual 1:35 scale from the maker MiniArt. It is a paper project from the end of the Second World War which never took off, so the model captures a concept that was never realized. The kit has a smaller part count made up for by quality; the package usually contains clear and photo-etched parts. Check the exact contents of the package against this item.
The Triebflügel was a German design of 1944 for a fighter with vertical takeoff and landing (a so-called tailsitter, taking off and landing on its tail). It had no conventional lifting wings; both lift and thrust were provided by a three-blade rotor in the middle of the fuselage, spun up by ramjets at the tips of the blades. Only models for the wind tunnel were made; the end of the war in 1945 stopped development before a real prototype could be built. No Triebflügel therefore ever flew.
Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement. The heart of the build is the rotor with the ramjets, so seat it carefully and symmetrically. Because the machine never really existed, you have great creative freedom in the choice of camouflage and markings (it is a hypothetical what-if). Glue the photo-etched parts with super glue and mask the canopy glazing before spraying over a base coat (primer).
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
