An injection-molded plastic kit of the French self-propelled howitzer AUF1 of 155 mm caliber in 1:35 scale. The set offers workable suspension, workable tracks joined without glue, turret hatches to open or close and rich photo-etched parts. The model is a fitting challenge for intermediate builders; it has a well worked out exterior without an interior.
The AUF1 is a French self-propelled howitzer of 155 mm caliber developed by the GIAT group on the basis of the chassis of the AMX-30 tank series. It carries a gun with an autoloader and on the roof a heavy antiaircraft machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber. The version depicted in the set grows out of the more advanced chassis with a higher turret ring and double-pin tracks.
Assemble the workable suspension and the workable tracks according to the instructions. Use a thin modeling cement on the joints of the plastic, apply a primer and paint with an airbrush. The richly engraved surface comes into its own with a wash and with dust and mud pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
