An injection-molded plastic kit of the French Hotchkiss H38/39 light tank in 1:35 scale from Bronco. It is a detailed new mold which, according to the manufacturer, makes it possible to build several versions of the real vehicle. Besides the plastic parts, the box contains a photo-etched fret and decals for several marking options.
The Hotchkiss H38 and H39 were French light tanks of the late 1930s, derived from the H35 type with a more powerful engine. They were notable for their cast hull and turret with a cannon and were used during the Battle of France in 1940. A number of captured vehicles were then used by the Wehrmacht, which is why the kit offers both the French domed turret cupola and the German variant with a split hatch.
With vehicles it pays to assemble and paint the running gear and the turret before you close the model. Use thin cement for plastic and bond the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush. Both the French multi-color and the German schemes are nicely brought to life by weathering: dark washes emphasize the cast surface and the pressings, while dust and mud pigments on the running gear and the fenders give the tank authenticity. Pay attention to the choice of parts according to the version you pick.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
