This is NOT a vehicle model but a detail accessory for a kit. The set brings colored 3D-printed parts on a decal backing that represent the rubber floor mats in the cab and the mudguards (wheel arch liners) of the truck. The parts have real three-dimensional relief and texture and are printed photorealistically, so the interior of the cab and the detail of the wheel arches gain a faithful look with no painting. The set is designed exactly for the plastic GAZ-66 kit in 1:35 scale from the maker Zvezda; it does not have to fit kits from other makers exactly, and the base kit has to be owned.
The GAZ-66 is a Soviet light off-road truck with all-wheel drive (4x4), characterized by a cab over the engine. It was committed in large numbers with the Soviet army and in civil use thanks to its ability to get through heavy terrain. It is precisely the broken-up cab and the wheel arches that are the places where colored mats and detailed mudguards lift the overall impression of a finished model.
The parts are applied much like classic decals: they are dipped briefly, slid off the backing and placed into position. It is advisable to treat the surface with varnish before and after the piece is applied. The mats and the mudguards are already colored and are not painted; the impression can be refined with a fine wash or with pigments for the mud and dust effects typical of an off-road truck.
This is an accessory for a kit. The GAZ-66 kit itself, glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
