The generator set 1:35 Generator from the Italian brand Royal Model adds a source of power to a field workshop, a staff post and a construction scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
The model represents a portable generator set, that is an internal combustion engine coupled to an alternator in a protective frame. The manufacturer casts it in resin and encloses a decal sheet for the plates and markings. The item stands on its own and is not tied to any particular vehicle.
Without a source of electricity of its own, neither a field headquarters nor a dressing station nor a repair crew worked. The set powered lighting, radio sets, chargers and hand tools, and usually stood off to one side so that the noise and the exhaust gases did not reach the tent. On a diorama it therefore works well at the edge of a scene, connected by a cable to whatever it is to power. The cable is the detail that gives a scene coherence. Sets of the same kind still turn up on building sites and in natural disasters today, after all.
Wash the casting, cut the casting blocks off and level the surfaces with a file. The frame construction tempts you to spray it whole, yet painting the engine separately gives a cleaner result. Bring out the metal parts with a graphite pencil or with pigment, and use a dark wash into the recesses on the engine block. A fuel stain under the set and trampled grass around it will close the scene off.
Neither coating materials nor adhesives are enclosed.
