A turned barrel for the 50 mm KwK 39 L/60 gun (1:35) replaces the plastic barrel for Pz.Kpfw. III tanks of the J (late), L and M versions with a perfectly straight metal part.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a model of a tank but a turned metal gun barrel from the Polish maker Aber in 1:35 scale. It replaces the plastic barrel of the long 50 mm KwK 39 L/60 tank gun, with which the late versions of the German Pz.Kpfw. III tank were armed (Ausf. J late, L and M). The metal barrel is perfectly straight, with a clean muzzle and without a seam that would have to be filled.
The long 50 mm gun, that is, the KwK 39 with a barrel of L/60 length, was an attempt to extend the useful life of the Pz.Kpfw. III against the strengthening armor of its opponents. The characteristic slender barrel is one of the identifying marks of the late versions of this tank.
Cut the plastic barrel off, clean the contact surface up and, if need be, drill the opening in the mantlet out. Fit the metal barrel and fix it with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal before painting and coat it with a primer for metal.
A model of the tank, glue and paints are not included in the package.
