German heavy off-road staff car Horch 4x4 in 1:35 scale — a plastic kit of the all-wheel-drive vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit in 1:35 scale depicts the German heavy off-road vehicle Horch, one of the typical staff and liaison cars of the Wehrmacht. The model captures the open body with room for several people, the detailed all-wheel-drive chassis, and the characteristic spare wheels mounted on the sides. Thanks to its simple yet accurate design, it makes a rewarding diorama accessory as well as a standalone collector's piece.
The Horch belonged to the group of heavy standardized off-road vehicles created under the German program to unify army vehicles. It was powered by a strong eight-cylinder engine, and all-wheel drive gave it good off-road capability. The car carried up to six people and served the army as a staff, liaison, and reconnaissance vehicle, and sometimes as a tow vehicle or ambulance. It entered service in the second half of the 1930s, and thousands were built.
With an open car, the interior is visible, so it pays to carefully paint the seats, dashboard, and floor before finishing the body. Make sure the axles and wheels sit straight. Apply the base color with an airbrush over a primer; dark washes in the recesses and engraved lines will add depth. Suggest dust and mud from field roads with pigments on the wheels and underside, and light paint chipping will bring the edges and footholds to life. Suitable decals will finish off the unit markings.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
