An injection-molded plastic kit of the Israeli main battle tank Merkava Mk.IIID in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The model uses slide-molded parts for the upper and lower hull, rounded out with photo-etched parts and a decal. It is a modern variant of the Merkava, whose name means chariot, optimized for fighting in built-up areas.
The Merkava is the main battle tank of the Israel Defense Forces with the characteristic front placement of the engine, which raises the protection of the crew. The Mk.IIID version is one of the later configurations of the third generation, adapted for so-called low-intensity conflicts and for fighting in an urban setting.
It is best to finish the running gear before you close up the hull. Use thin cement on the plastic, lay down the base with a primer and apply the shades with an airbrush. The characteristic Israeli desert shade comes out well with gentle emphasis on the edges and dust weathering with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
