This is a photo-etched detail set, not a standalone model. The metal photo-etch in 1:35 scale from the Japanese maker FineMolds completes a model of the Type 61 tank of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) with fine parts that plastic cannot capture faithfully.
The Type 61 was the first postwar medium tank developed in Japan and served with the Ground Self-Defense Force from the 1960s. It was a domestic design that built on the experience with the Western equipment of the time.
The set adds fine photo-etched items for increasing realism, for example grilles, covers and small fittings. Separate the parts with a sharp knife, make the folds over a metal ruler and bond them with super glue. Degrease the photo-etch before painting and go over it with a base coat.
