1:35 M-10 U.S.crew WWII is a resin set of crew figures for the American M10 tank destroyer of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This collection of figures from the Italian brand Royal Model is cut for the open turret of the American tank destroyer. Besides whole figures it also contains a half figure intended for a hatch, which is the usual solution in crew sets for filling the hull without unnecessary bulk. The castings are in polyurethane resin and are supplied unassembled.
The M10 was created during the war on a chassis derived from the Sherman medium tank. The open-topped turret carried a 3-inch gun and at the rear it was balanced by conspicuous wedge-shaped counterweights. The open roof gave the crew a field of view, but left it exposed to shell splinters and to the weather, so the men tend to be photographed in helmets and winter tunics even inside the vehicle. The Wolverine nickname caught on only later and was not used in period reports.
The figures have to be dry-fitted directly in the model, because every M10 kit has the turret space laid out differently. Sand the mating surfaces, fill the seams after gluing with putty and sand them back only once they have dried. Only then come the primer and the painting, otherwise the putty would show through.
The figures are supplied unpainted and without the vehicle.
