Responsibility details are not available.
A set of road wheels for a model of the American M1 Abrams main battle tank in 1:35 scale. The parts replace the wheels from the box with more crisply rendered castings with a cleaner drawing of both the disc and the tire. The manufacturer prepared the set for the M1 Abrams model by Meng; it carries the same version separately for models by other makers, so watch which model you are buying the version for.
The M1 Abrams is an American main battle tank taken into service in the early 1980s and continuously modernized ever since. The running gear consists of seven dual road wheels on torsion bars on each side, an idler wheel at the front and a drive sprocket at the rear. The wheels are among the parts that are very visible on a finished model, because they are seen whole from the outside and there are many of them, so every inaccuracy in the drawing of the disc is repeated fourteen times. The manufacturer uses the designation active version for the form of the wheels on vehicles in current service and sets it apart in that way from the older form, which it offers separately.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and get the remains of the mold release agent off them. Cut the casting blocks away with a fine saw and level the mating surface with sandpaper so that all the wheels seat at the same height; protect your airways when sanding. Fit them with cyanoacrylate glue onto torsion bars that are already assembled and cured, and keep checking whether the line of the wheels sits true on a flat surface. Painting is quickest on a stick: a primer, the body color of the vehicle, the tire in a dark shade and finally pigments with a dust and mud effect, which on running gear pay to be applied in layers from the bottom up.
