The turretless American armored vehicle 1:35 M20 in a detailed form. The Royal Model set adds photo-etched metal and resin; an add-on over a production plastic kit. The set is intended for the Tamiya kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Royal Model supplies a set of photo-etched sheet and resin for this American armored vehicle. It deals above all with the surfaces where plastic looks oversized, and completes the equipment hung about the hull. Illustrated instructions for the build are enclosed. It is based on the dimensions of the Tamiya kit.
It arose simply: the designers took the six-wheeled M8 Greyhound armored car, took the turret with its gun off and left the opening where it had been open. The space freed up served for carrying men, for stowing radio sets and for the commander's map table. A 12.7 mm heavy machine gun was attached on a ring mount. The vehicle performed command, signals and reconnaissance tasks with the armored units of the Western Allies from 1943 and after the war it appeared in a number of other armies.
The open compartment tempts one to load baggage and crates into it, but the turn for those comes only after the inside has been painted. Set the tires apart with a more matte shade than the hull and add dust from pigments to the sides. The metal strips are more easily fitted before the final assembly of the hull parts. Finally unify the whole with a semi-matte overcoat.
An add-on over a production plastic kit. The package does not contain paints, glues or pigments.
