M36 tank destroyer loader in 1:35 scale from Special Hobby: a resin figure of an American tank crewman with a 90 mm artillery round.
Responsibility details are not available.
The figure captures an American tank crewman at the moment when he stands upright holding a 90 millimeter artillery round in his hands. It is exactly this natural posture that makes a figure an ornament to a model rather than an alien object: the figure has no strained pose and no arms flung out for no reason. The set includes two versions of the round, one loose and one in its shipping container, so you can choose according to the moment you want to show. The figure is cast in resin and is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The M36, nicknamed Jackson, was an American tank destroyer with an open turret and a 90 millimeter gun, that is, a weapon that could deal with heavy German vehicles too. The open turret meant a risk for the crew, but at the same time a good field of view and fast loading. The loader worked in a cramped space with a heavy round in his hands, and during a longer engagement it was one of the most exhausting jobs in the crew.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water so the mold release residue disappears from the surface, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw and level the areas with a file, and sand with your airways protected. Resin is glued with super glue, that is, cyanoacrylate. Build the base with a primer. Paint the face last and work on it in layers, because it is on the face that you see whether a figure is alive.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
