An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M4A3 (76)W HVSS medium tank in its early configuration (Early Type) in 1:35 scale from Rye Field Model. The kit captures the 76 mm gun, the wet ammunition stowage (W) and the wide-track HVSS running gear. Workable track links and additional armor plates are usually included; check the exact contents against the particular box.
The Sherman M4A3 76W HVSS was one of the most advanced wartime configurations of the famous American medium tank. The 76 mm gun increased the armor-piercing performance against the late German tanks and the new HVSS running gear with its wide tracks improved the ride and the weight distribution. The wet ammunition stowage reduced the risk of fire after a hit. The tank served at the end of the Second World War and afterwards.
First assemble the running gear with the HVSS tracks and the suggested interior of the gun breech, and only then close the hull — workable tracks are more comfortable to build and paint separately. Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement, unify the base with a primer and spray the olive base coat with an airbrush. The weathering is provided by dark washes, dust pigments on the running gear and wear on the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
