An injection-molded plastic model of the M4A3E8 Sherman Easy Eight medium tank in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Dragon, in the Thunderbolt VII version. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; for the exact contents of the package, go by the enclosed instructions.
The M4A3E8, nicknamed the Easy Eight after the letter designation E8 in the spelling alphabet, was a late-war Sherman with the Ford GAA gasoline engine and the 76mm gun with a high muzzle velocity. The key novelty was the HVSS suspension with horizontal volute springs and wider tracks, which gave the tank a steadier ride and better going across country. The Thunderbolt VII version refers to the tank of the later General Creighton Abrams.
First assemble the HVSS suspension and the wider tracks the Easy Eight stands on carefully: they are its recognizable mark. Spray the olive green base over a primer. Washes will accentuate the details, and pigments and a dry brush will create mud and dust effects as well as scuffed metal; tactical markings and a winter patina also fit the late-war deployment.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
