The MH-60R Seahawk is a shipborne multirole helicopter of the US Navy and the main machine of its kind on the decks of American surface ships. It replaced the older patrol versions of the H-60 family and joined their tasks into a single type: it hunts submarines with a dipping sonar and with sonobuoys, watches surface targets with radar and strikes if the need arises. The crew compartment is fundamentally different from the older machines, and the main part of its equipment consists of multifunction displays. Those are exactly what take the most work on a model, as empty dark surfaces look dead.
Colored interior pieces made by 3D printing, in 1:35 scale and in a form for the kit from the Kitty Hawk company. The pieces have a raised relief, so the displays and the panels do not look like a flat print, and the colors are printed on.
The pieces of the QD series are carried on decal paper and have no adhesive layer of their own. Cut the piece out, dip it in lukewarm water for about 15 seconds and slide it off the paper into place. The surface has to be clean and gone over with gloss varnish (Future, Klear, Tamiya X-22), otherwise the piece will not take hold; in an intricate spot a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as the chemicals attack the printed resin. Work with tweezers. Finish the interior before you close the fuselage and fit the glazing of the cabin.
