An add-on detail set, not a standalone model. It holds one accurately turned metal barrel of the modern Russian 30 mm 2A42 autocannon in 1:35 scale. The metal part replaces the plastic barrel of the base kit, is perfectly straight, on axis and with a cleanly worked muzzle.
The 2A42 is a Soviet and Russian 30 mm autocannon deployed on infantry fighting vehicles and other armored vehicles and on an attack helicopter. It is known for a high rate of fire and dual ammunition feed. The metal part reproduces its slender barrel with the characteristic end more faithfully than a thin plastic molding.
Deburr and degrease the barrel, and roughen the stub to be glued slightly for better adhesion if need be. Glue with cyanoacrylate. Before painting, use a primer suitable for metal, so that the paint and the weathering hold well. Spray the barrel together with the vehicle for a uniform shade.
