Voyager Model 1:35 Rhino anti-IED device (USMC, 2 sets) is a photo-etched brass set of the boom device against roadside bombs.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched brass set representing the Rhino device against improvised explosive devices (IEDs) used by the US Marine Corps, in 1:35 scale. The package holds parts for two devices. It is not a model but an accessory. The Rhino is a boom with a heat source extended ahead of the vehicle, whose task was to set off devices triggered by an infrared sensor early. The set is conceived as a universal one.
The Rhino device was used on armored vehicles in Iraq and Afghanistan. The hot element extended on the end of the arm was meant to trigger infrared-guided devices before the vehicle itself reached them, and so to protect the crew.
Separate the fine etched parts with a sharp knife and assemble the arm according to the instructions. Bond the brass with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the metal before painting and apply a primer for metal.
This is a detail set, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
