This injection-molded plastic kit captures the German Panzerbeobachtungswagen V artillery observation vehicle on the chassis of the Panther tank. The 1:35 scale model from Dragon has newly shaped turret parts and uses DS tracks that are easy to shape. The vehicle carried a dummy 5 cm Kw.K.39 gun in the characteristic pot mantlet (Topfblende).
The Panther was a German medium tank produced from 1943. The Pz.Beob.Wg.V observation version served artillery observers for fire control; its main gun was replaced by a 5 cm dummy in a pot mantlet, while the real armament was a machine gun. The turret also held observation instruments for tracking and ranging targets.
The DS tracks can be shaped and glued with ordinary modeling cement; fine-tune the running gear before you close the hull. Join the plastic with liquid cement, apply a primer and spray the shades with an airbrush. The large Panther will come out well with shading that brings out its volume, plus washes and pigments for dust and mud.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
