Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German medium tank Panther in its first production form Ausf.D in 1:35 scale from Italeri. The kit captures the early shape of the Panther with the characteristic drum-shaped commander's cupola and the hull layout typical of 1943. The package contains decals for several marking options. The exact number of parts and the type of tracks (individual links or a one-piece band) are not stated here.
The Panther was a German medium tank developed as an answer to the Soviet types that appeared from 1941 on. It combined steeply sloped armor, a long high-velocity 7.5 cm gun and running gear with large interleaved road wheels. The Ausf.D form was the first production type and it went into action for the first time in the summer of 1943 in the Battle of Kursk, where the first machines suffered technical breakdowns. Despite the early troubles the Panther was among the technically most advanced tanks of its time.
Cut the parts off the sprues and bond them with a thin plastic cement. Paint and assemble the running gear and the interior before closing the hull up. Apply primer and the paints with an airbrush, and put the decals on over a gloss coat. Create the mud and dust effects on the running gear with pigments, and bring the recesses and the engraving to life with a dark wash. Early Panthers can be finished in a period camouflage with interwoven stripes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
