1:35 Raketenjagdpanzer Jaguar 1 is a plastic kit of the West German missile tank destroyer from Revell.

A kit of the Bundeswehr missile tank destroyer Jaguar 1 in 1:35 scale. The set from the German brand Revell is injection-molded in plastic and comes with a decal sheet. It represents the vehicle in the form it had after rearmament with HOT guided missiles, that is with the characteristic launcher turret on a low hull and with added armor.
The Jaguar 1, also listed as the Raketenjagdpanzer 3, came about by reworking older Raketenjagdpanzer 2 vehicles. From the end of the 1970s their original wire-guided missile system was taken out and replaced by a launcher installation for HOT missiles, and at the same time they were given stronger frontal protection. More than three hundred vehicles went through the rework. In the Bundeswehr order of battle the Jaguar 1 was to stop Soviet armored spearheads at long range without having to get into a direct duel, and its low silhouette was ideal for that. The vehicles only disappeared from service in the 1990s.
The tracks and the running gear deserve attention right at the start, because they are harder to reach once the side plates are on. Dry-fit the launcher installation so that it sits in line. For the Cold War look, the three-color Bundeswehr camouflage is the obvious choice, and it comes out well sprayed over a soft mask or freehand at low pressure. Bring out the sharp edges with a light pass in a slightly paler shade, and suggest training use with dust on the fenders and worn steps.
The package consists of unpainted plastic components and decals, which the modeler then assembles and sprays with paints of their own.
