The basic photo-etched set for refining a plastic kit of the Soviet T-55A medium tank in 1:35 scale. It is not a model but a metal accessory for models of the Soviet T-55A medium tank. The photo-etched parts replace the thickest plastic elements and add details that injection-molded plastic cannot capture.
The T-55 and its T-55A variant were among the most widespread medium tanks of the Cold War and served with dozens of armies around the world. The basic set typically brings fender covers, radiator grilles, clamps, lifting eyes and other fine sheet metal elements of the hull and the turret, which come out too thick in plastic.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife and bend them over a ruler or a photo-etch bending tool. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with a special adhesive for photo-etch. Treat the metal with a primer before painting. Washes and pigments (mud and dust effects) suit the patina.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
