This large injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter represents the 9A82 launcher vehicle of the Soviet, later Russian S-300V surface-to-air missile system. The set offers a large number of parts, a multi-part molded hull, individual track links and a photo-etched fret.
The S-300V is a mobile air defense and anti-missile system whose elements are all carried on tracked chassis with high cross-country mobility. The 9A82 launcher vehicle carries large missiles intended to destroy aircraft and ballistic targets at great altitudes and ranges. The system consists of several kinds of specialized vehicles — launcher, radar and command — and ranks among the most capable of its type. The tracked chassis gives it high mobility off made-up roads as well.
Assemble and paint the tracked chassis and the running gear before you close the hull. Glue the individual track links in sections and let them cure. Consider leaving the erector mechanism with the missiles removable for painting. After an airbrushed base coat bring the vehicle to life with edge highlighting, washes and dust pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
