SAM-2 — anti-aircraft missile with loading cabin (SA-2 Guideline) 1:35 from Trumpeter — an injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet surface-to-air missile including the transport trailer and the loading equipment for a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet SA-2 Guideline surface-to-air missile (the S-75 / SAM-2 system) in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The set captures the missile in the version with a loading cabin, that is including the transport trailer and the loading equipment used to move the missile and load it onto the launcher. It therefore makes a rewarding basis for an air defense diorama.
SA-2 Guideline is the NATO designation for the Soviet surface-to-air missile of the S-75 system (V-75 Dvina), which entered service at the end of the 1950s and became one of the most widespread air defense weapons of the Cold War. It was a two-stage missile with a jettisonable solid-fuel booster and a liquid-fueled sustainer stage. The system became famous above all for shooting down an American U-2 high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft in 1960. It served with a number of armies around the world, among other places during the conflicts in Southeast Asia and in the Middle East.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid cement for plastic. On a missile this large, pay attention to a clean fit of the body halves and the fins and sand any seams that appear. Assemble and clean up the trailer and its chassis before final assembly, while they are still easy to reach. Lay down a primer before painting, spray the surfaces with an airbrush in thin coats and unify the shades. Create the weathering with a panel line wash in the hollows and pigments for dust and mud around the chassis and the launcher.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
