An all-resin kit of the Soviet divisional gun ZiS-3 model 1942 in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian brand Spalah.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a stand-alone kit of the whole weapon, not an add-on set: the Soviet towed divisional gun ZiS-3 model 1942 in 1:35 scale. The maker is the Ukrainian brand Spalah, which prints the model in 3D from photopolymer resin. With towed guns printing is in its element, because the carriage is an assembly of thin trails, a shield and sights that would have to be thickened in injection-molded plastic. The kit is meant for experienced modelers.
The ZiS-3 of 76 mm caliber was the most numerously produced gun of the Second World War and became the basic artillery weapon of the Red Army. It combined the role of a divisional gun with that of an anti-tank weapon, it was simple to make and to work, and it was produced in tens of thousands. It was precisely that simplicity that made it a weapon which served for a long time after the war in a number of other armies as well.
A resin kit belongs in the hands of an experienced modeler. Wash the parts clean of print resin residue, cut off the print supports and sand the surfaces down with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Glue the thin trails of the carriage on a flat surface so that they stay in plane. Paint over a primer, with an airbrush, and add depth with a dark wash and a dust pigment on the wheels and on the shield.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
