Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Scammell Pioneer R100 heavy artillery tractor in 1:35 scale from IBG models. The package holds injection-molded plastic sprues, photo-etched parts and a clear sprue for the cab glazing; decals for British vehicles are enclosed. The model faithfully captures the characteristic rugged vehicle with its long hood and open body.
The Scammell Pioneer was a British heavy tractor with a 6x4 layout, which proved itself in several roles in the Second World War — as a recovery vehicle, a tank transporter and an artillery tractor. The R100 version was intended for towing medium and heavy guns and for carrying their crews and ammunition. It was powered by a diesel engine and excelled in cross-country performance thanks to its walking-beam rear axle suspension. Pioneers served the British army throughout the war on many fronts.
On a wheeled tractor, first assemble and paint the chassis, the engine and the axles, and only then close up the hood and the body. Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid cement for plastic, and the fine photo-etched parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting and spray the khaki or desert shade with an airbrush in thin coats. Bring out the engraving and the rivets with a panel wash, and apply dust and mud pigments to the running gear and the fenders.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
