A resin figure of a Schwimmwagen driver in 1:35 scale from the Polish maker Mantis Miniatures. The seated figure is cast in resin and is shaped to fit behind the wheel of a model of the amphibious vehicle. It is meant to be painted and set into the vehicle; working with resin suits advanced modelers.
The Volkswagen Type 166 Schwimmwagen was a light German amphibious vehicle of the Second World War, derived from the concept of the Kübelwagen. It served above all with reconnaissance and signals units thanks to its ability to move on land and on water. A seated driver figure brings the interior of a model to life and gives the vehicle scale and a story.
First wash the resin parts free of the remains of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks carefully and clean up the mating surfaces with your airways protected. Glue with cyanoacrylate. It is practical to paint the figure before the final assembly; a primer, shaded coats of acrylic or oil colors and the picking out of the face and the uniform with glazes and a dry brush prove themselves.
The figures are supplied unpainted and cast in resin, meant to be glued together and painted. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
