Plastic kit of the German assault gun Sd.Kfz. 167 StuG IV of late production with an engine and workable tracks in 1:35 scale from Rye Field Model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the German assault gun StuG IV in its late production version. The model from Rye Field Model contains a finely rendered engine and, once assembled, workable track links. Photo-etched and clear parts and decals for several options are included.
The StuG IV (Sd.Kfz. 167) came about by combining the proven superstructure of the StuG III assault gun with the chassis of the Panzer IV tank. It carried a 7.5 cm gun with a long barrel and filled the same role as the more numerous StuG III — fire support for the infantry and destroying tanks. It went into production in 1943 and served until the end of the war; late examples had simplified and modified features.
If you want to show off the engine, assemble and paint the power unit and the running gear before you close up the hull and leave the engine deck covers open. Workable tracks allow a natural sag. Bring out the relief of the armor with a wash and finish the dust and mud with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
