Aber 1:35 photo-etched engine screens for the Sd.Kfz.250 replace the solid plastic covers with a fine metal mesh for both the early and the late version. Intended for the Dragon kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory photo-etched metal set from the Polish maker Aber in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit but a detail set of protective screens over the radiator and the engine compartment. The fine metal mesh replaces a solid or coarsely represented plastic part and looks convincing even from close up. The set is prepared for both the early (Alte) and the late (Neue) version of the vehicle. The target kit is from Dragon.
The Sd.Kfz.250 was a German light armored half-track of the Second World War, built in an early (Alte) and later in a simplified late (Neue) variant. The engine compartment was covered by perforated protective screens, which are a conspicuous detail of the front and upper part of the hull.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and form the bends on a photo-etch bender or between two rulers. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue or with a special adhesive for photo-etched parts. Degrease the metal before painting and apply primer; do not overload the mesh with a heavy coat of paint, so that the see-through structure is preserved.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The base Dragon kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
